Yoga Nidra, sometimes called yogic sleep, is the powerful practices of guided deep rest. It takes you to the liminal space between waking and sleeping, moving awareness gently through the layers of self and leaving you with a quality of wholeness that ordinary rest rarely reaches.
Wild Nidra takes that same journey outside.
Instead of four walls and a bolster, you are held by open sky, birdsong, the texture of the ground beneath you, and the unhurried rhythm of the living world. The sounds of nature do not interrupt the practice here. They weave into the practice. When the boundary between inner and outer world begins to soften, as it always does in Nidra, the natural environment deepens that softening in ways that simply cannot be replicated indoors. This is rest as adventure. Stillness as a way of going further in.
Sessions are held in carefully chosen outdoor locations, each selected for their natural quality and potential for open air shelter if weather dictates. Every location includes an alternative covered space so that a little rain is never a reason to cancel. Sessions run for sixty minutes and are open to everyone.
Practical Information
Please bring: a yoga mat, a sleeping bag, an eye mask, and warm waterproof layers for cooler or wetter days. A hot water bottle is recommended if you are prone to feeling the chill. Bivvy bags will be provided for all participants.
Sessions will only be cancelled in the event of severe weather. Light rain is not a cancellation; every venue has covered space available. You will be notified in advance of any changes.
Sessions are open to all genders.
Accessibility: Wild Nidra takes place on outdoor terrain that may be uneven. Participants need to be able to move comfortably over natural ground and to lower themselves to the floor and rise again independently. If you have any questions about a specific location’s accessibility, please get in touch before booking.
