ReCreation Yoga

What does Yoga mean to you? When you think of people practicing yoga, what do you imagine them doing? Poses or Asana? Did you know that there is so much more to learn and understand. That Yoga is a complete philosophy system as well as the sister science of Ayurveda or the Indian equivalent to Traditional Chinese Medicine?  If adventuring through Yogic wisdom and practices to re-create yourself stikes a chord, then scroll for more...
Liz your Inner Adventure Guide is the founder of ReCreation Yoga

ReCreation Yoga is an invitation to experience yoga differently. Rooted in therapeutic practice, women’s wisdom traditions, and a deep reverence for the natural world, these offerings are built around the belief that real restoration happens when we stop performing wellness and start actually resting in it. Inspired by the revolutionary teachings of Uma Dinsmore-Tuli’s Yoni Shakti, the Womancraft Way of Jane Hardwicke Collings, and the Stone Yoga School methods, these sessions are grounded, nourishing, and alive with the kind of practice that meets you exactly as you are.

An invitation to the revolution...

ReCreation Yoga’s mission is to offer opportunities for participants to experience yoga in a new way. Focusing on our individual connection to nature, community, restoration and tuning into our individual needs, we aim to support the health of people and the planet.

Women of all phases of life, monthly cycle and experience, this one is for you. The Women's Yoga Circles are a gathering space: nurturing, honest, and alive with the kind of connection that only happens when women come together with intention. Drawing on therapeutic yoga movement, women's health wisdom, philosophy, and the restorative power of deep rest, these gatherings are less class, more circle, a place to arrive as you are and leave feeling held, nourished, and a little more yourself. Formerly known as the Yoni Shakti Women's Therapeutic Yoga Circles, the spirit remains the same; the name has simply grown with us. Dates coming soon. Watch this space.

Yoga Nidra, or "yogic sleep", is an ancient practice of guided deep rest that takes you to the liminal space between an awakiened state and sleeping, moving awareness through the layers of self and leaving you with a profound sense of wholeness. Now imagine that experience held not by four walls and a bolster, but by birdsong, open sky, and the hum of the living earth beneath you. Wild Nidra takes this timeless inner journey and places it outside, in nature, where the ground itself becomes your nest. With the sounds of the natural world weaving in, the boundary between inner and outer world softens in a way that simply can't be replicated indoors. This is rest as adventure. Stillness as exploration. Dates are coming in spring 2026 — watch this space.

Restorative yoga isn't about doing more, it's about finally setting something down. Trained in restorative practice through Stone Yoga School with Janet Stone, these small group sessions use props, long-held supported postures, breathwork, and intentional stillness to help your body remember what deep rest actually feels like. This isn't gentle flow or stretching, it's the practice of propping yourself up in positions that allow tension (physical, emotional, collective) to release without effort or force. In a world that demands constant doing, this is permission to stop. To soften. To ask yourself: what do I need to set down to become free? Small groups mean real attention. These sessions are open to everyone ready to rest with intention. Dates coming soon — watch this space.

Practicing Yoga outside might seem impractical to some but to those who embrace the challenges are awarded a deeper connection to nature, the elements and seasons. Liz's philosophy is that Buddha didn't achieve enlightenment in any temple or building. Rather this occured in the simple lotus posture under a tree. She invites you to take your mat outside to practice. Let's go outside, so that we can get inside.
