Inner Adventure in Sound

Sound Therapy Bristol

Therapeutic sound sessions that take you beneath the noise, and bring you back to yourself.

What is Sound Therapy?

Sound therapy Bristol sessions offer something words can’t reach. As a BAST trained sound therapist in Bristol, I work with layers of tension, emotion, and stored experience that sit beyond what talking can touch. This is exactly where sound therapy works.

Using Himalayan & crystal singing bowls, gongs, and gentle percussion, these sessions create a wave of resonance that moves through the body, inviting the nervous system to release what it has been holding and return to a state of deep, natural rest.

Trained through the British Academy of Sound Therapy, the UK’s original and most rigorously researched sound therapy institution, founded by Lyz Cooper, and drawing on a methodology that weaves therapeutic sound with mindfulness and self-reflection, this is sound therapy rooted in both science and soul. Whether you arrive carrying the weight of a difficult season or simply craving a genuine hour of stillness, the sound will meet you exactly where you are.

Nervous System Science

Therapeutic sound can shift the body from sympathetic (fight-or-flight) to parasympathetic (rest-and-digest) activation within minutes, creating physiological changes that talk therapy alone cannot achieve.

Sound Therapy for Teams & Organisations

Burnout isn’t an individual problem anymore. It’s a team epidemic. And standard wellness offerings aren’t touching it.

Sound therapy for organisations offers something gym memberships and fruit bowls can’t: genuine nervous system reset that creates space for teams to reconnect, recalibrate, and remember what sustainable performance actually feels like.

What corporate sound therapy looks like

Why organisations choose this work

Demonstrates investment in genuine wellbeing, supporting retention Complements (doesn't replace) other wellness initiatives.

Sound Therapy Series: Closed Group Journeys

Some work needs time, commitment, and witness. The closed group sound therapy series offers what drop-in sessions can’t: continuity, depth, and a container held by each other.

Small groups (6-10 people) commit to a full series of 4-6 Reflection Sound Therapy sessions, working through the 7Rs BAST Method: Reflection, Release, Resonance, Reframing, Responsibility, Resistance, and Recognition. Using therapeutic sound, guided practices, and the accountability of showing up not just for yourself but for the group, this creates transformation that lasts.

Sessions are 90 minutes, scheduled fortnightly or monthly. The same faces each time build psychological safety and collective healing that amplifies individual work.

Launching 2026. Spaces are limited. Join the waiting list to be notified when the next series opens.

A 2016 study published in the Journal of Evidence-Based Complementary & Alternative Medicine found that participants in Tibetan singing bowl meditation experienced significantly decreased tension, anger, fatigue, and depressed mood, with spiritual wellbeing scores significantly increased.

Sound Therapy vs. Sound Bath: what's the difference?

You might have heard of a sound bath, and yes, what I offer includes that beautiful experience of lying still and letting waves of sound move through you. But there’s an important distinction worth naming. A sound bath is passive by design: you receive, you relax, you float.

Why Sound Therapy Bristol Sessions Go Deeper?

The sound therapy sessions I offer go a step further. Trained through the British Academy of Sound Therapy, the first training school to offer formal qualifications in sound therapy, my work is rooted in the BAST Method.

This approach couples sound sequences with psychological exercises. Therefore, using sound not just as a relaxation tool but as a means of reflecting on your inner self and establishing a relationship with your subconscious.

All reflection sessions are woven through with the Cooper Sax 7Rs Model of Experiential Processing. A simple but profound framework that helps you become aware of and work through your human experience. As a result, what happens in the session doesn’t stay in the session.

You leave not just rested, but with something you can take with you.

Which Sound Therapy Experience is Right for You?

For nervous system reset and deep parasympathetic rest. You need to genuinely switch off and let your body remember how to rest.

A therapeutic session designed to guide you into the liminal space between waking and sleep, where your nervous system can fully rest and reset. Using intentionally composed sound sequences with Gong, Himalayan bowls, crystal bowls, and gentle percussion, these aren’t just relaxing background sounds. They’re BAST informed therapeutic compositions that create and sustain the conditions for deep parasympathetic activation.

We begin with warm tea and a short grounding meditation before you’re immersed in carefully structured sound designed to keep you in that powerful threshold state. After the soundwork, there’s time to integrate the experience quietly before closing with nourishing treats.

This is purposeful rest, the kind that shifts something.

For processing what’s beneath the surface. You’re ready to notice, feel, and gently shift what’s been held in your subconscious.

A therapeutic group session that goes beneath the surface. Using resonant tones of Gong, Himalayan bowls, crystal bowls, and gentle percussion, these sessions weave sound with guided self-reflection and mindfulness practices. You’re invited to notice, process, and gently shift what’s been held below conscious awareness.

We begin with warm tea and a grounding meditation, then move into guided reflection supported by therapeutic sound. We close with integration time and nourishing treats to honour the inner work.

This is sound as inquiry, not just rest.

For rhythmic connection and embodied experience. You want to feel grounded, connected to pulse and rhythm, and anchored in your body.
